We are a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), and a Not-for Profit Association. We are a united body of friends, and Sons of Igueben living in Nigeria and Diaspora.
At some point in life, people tend to associate or affiliate more with certain individuals for a better sense of belonging and self worth.
Over the years we have come to associate more closely with certain individuals whom we call friends and/or brothers. Confidante is an effort to concretise these relationships.
The group started as three members thus: Mr Sam Obaze, Dr Pascal Ebhohimen, Dr Charles Osakue (all sons of Igueben, Edo State, Nigeria) who thought it needful to associate as brothers and friends from Igueben with common interests , objectives and goals of being there for each other at the point of need . This number grew within the shortest possible time to a membership strength of sixteen ( 18).
We meet once a month either in-person or virtual to accommodate those who may be unable to join the physical meeting. Meeting venue rotates amongst members’ residences , where possible . For connection with members in the diaspora communities, virtual meetings are held.
This group is an association of sons of igueben community in Edo state. They are people of like minds sharing similar values , like integrity, friendliness, fear of God, dependability, mutual trust, love of the environment and nature, and in respect of addressing issues of common interest.
We truly believe in unity of purpose, servitude, honesty, leadership by example. The Group shall see to our common interest as well as giving back to our community to support the development of our people. We aspire to come together as a family to share joy and happiness and also, in times of adversity to be there for one another.
1. To harness individual and collective resources to tackle issues of common interest and to help develop our people in such a way that we create value for them by way of projects, services, support for their children’s education, health care and occupational well-being.
2. We aspire to be interdependent and offer mutual support to one another, as members of this group as and when necessary.
We have two distinct types of membership in the association.
